The
Kestrel System Manager will monitor information from a variety of
different sources and consult a condition-action set to determine
if any resulting actions are to be taken. External devices (such
as Air conditioning) can also be monitored and also switched on/off.
The
main features of Kestrel are:
- Monitor
up to four mainframe consoles (GCOS7 or GCOS8)
- Converse
with Unix machines and PC's over TCP/IP
- Monitor
and control hardware devices
- Send
.WAV messages to a local soundcard or play to remote PC on the
network
- Send
.WAV messages via the telephone network to on-call personnel and
trigger actions via the telephone keypad
- Send
a short e-mail message
